The 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX, available at West Herr Subaru Kia, one of the leading Buffalo area car dealerships. As if to emphasize its rediscovered high-performance identity as a high-performance street rod, the Subaru Impreza WRX will take you around Buffalo in style. If its power, speed and security what you’re looking for, we’re your Subaru Impreza WRX NY dealer with all the mojo you can handle!
The 2010 Impreza WRX, from West Herr Subaru, is essentially a higher-performance version of the GT with a mandatory five-speed manual transmission, a more powerful engine, high performance tires, a more aggressively tuned suspension, special WRX trim and aerodynamic body pieces. The WRX Premium adds the extra items from the 2.5i Premium. The Navigation & Power Moonroof package is optional.
The WRX STI is equipped similarly to the WRX, but ups the performance ante even more. It gains a six-speed manual, 18-inch wheels, high-performance tires, Brembo brakes, front and rear limited-slip differentials, SI-Drive vehicle settings, an even more aggressively tuned suspension, a bigger hood scoop, Xenon headlights, sport seats and faux-suede and leather upholstery.
The STI’s BBS Package adds multi-reflector foglights and 18-inch BBS wheels in either silver or gold (the latter not available with all colors). The BBS + Navigation Package adds the previous items, plus a navigation system, Bluetooth, RCA audio/video jacks and the single-CD player.
The 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX has a higher-output 2.5-liter turbo rated at 265 hp and 244 lb-ft. The WRX STI is more potent still, with 305 hp and 290 lb-ft. All engines send their power to all four wheels. Transmission choices include a five-speed manual with incline start assist (which holds brake pressure for about a second when the clutch is depressed to simplify uphill starts) or a four-speed automatic with manual shift control. The WRX STI comes with an exclusive six-speed manual transmission.
The WRX, available at our Subaru dealer serving Buffalo, has a revised version of the 2.5GT’s engine that cranks out 265 hp and 244 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual is the lone transmission choice. Its 0-60 time in testing was a snappy 5.2 seconds, while fuel economy estimates are 18/25/21. The WRX STI gets even more boost for 305 hp and 290 lb-ft of torque.
Standard on all Impreza models at West Herr Subaru serving Buffalo are antilock disc brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints to help mitigate crash-induced whiplash.
In government crash testing, the Impreza WRX scored a perfect five stars across the board for driver and passenger frontal and front side impacts and four stars for rear side impacts. In Insurance Institute for Highway Safety testing, the Impreza WRX earned the top rating for frontal offset and side impact tests.
Larger door openings and rear doors that open to 75 degrees allow easy access to the 2010 Subaru Impreza’s cabin. The doors have framed side windows which help quiet the interior. A 60/40 split-folding rear seat comes in the sedan
and four-door hatch. Overall interior materials quality is solid, and the gauges and the center stack are attractively designed. As such, the Impreza’s interior looks and feels a cut above that of many rivals.
